Prince Charming is a character found in many fairy tales. He is typically depicted as a handsome, brave, and charming young man who comes to the rescue of a damsel in distress. In the 1950 Disney animated film Cinderella, Prince Charming is the tritagonist, and, as his name suggests, he is the prince of a faraway kingdom.

Different names, same character

Prince Charming is often referred to by different names in different stories. In the Cinderella fairy tale, he is simply known as Prince Charming. However, in other stories, he may be called Prince Florian (Sleeping Beauty), Prince Phillip (Beauty and the Beast), or Prince Edward (Enchanted).
